Welcome to our selection of Workshops.
K9 FUNdamentals provides training and guidance not just with your dog but you will also leave our workshops with a greater sense of confidence with the necessary skills learnt. Depending on the type of training needed, our workshops are either one-to-one or typically small in participant numbers for group sessions. This ensures that we optimise our time and attention with each owner and dog.
Life Skills for Adolescent Dogs
So you may have done puppy classes or taken on the responsibility of a teenage dog. You may even have an older dog that has forgotten some things and you're struggling with them pushing boundaries.
Having challenges with your dog not listening to your cues when out at the park or even at home?
Want to continue training your dog with fun games that have a purpose?
Interested in how to teach them to become more reliable when you give them a cue no matter what's going on around them?
The course comprises of 2 consecutive sessions. They have been designed to help you train your dog to confidently perform a behaviour when you cue for Duration, when at Distance and in the midst of Distractions.
The session's will take you through the foundations of what, why and how to train for each of the following...
Duration – length of time after the cue has been given until you indicate to your dog that it can do something else.
Distance – regardless of how far or close you are to your dog it can maintain a given cue or perform a cue when asked.
Distraction – regardless of a distraction your dog will not want to break from the cue you have asked of them.

Reactive Dog Training
Does your dog get overly excited by barking and pulling towards other dogs when you're out walking? Do you get that sense of dread when you see someone else's dog knowing how your dog is going to react when they see it?
Then this course is for you.
We teach you techniques on how to get your dog showing more interest in you than other dogs, using distance and distraction to your advantage.
Investment for this 5 week course (5 x 1 hr classes) is $400 (includes follow-up notes per class).

Loose lead walking workshop
Are you struggling with walking your dog calmly beside you? Instead you feel like your arm is about to be yanked off as your dog pulls you down the road?
Then this class is for you.
We teach you the tips and tricks for motivating your dog to want to walk beside you
Investment is $100 for a 1.5 hour class (includes Group follow-up notes post-class)

Recall workshop
How many times have you been left standing at the beach or park calling out your dogs name and they're ignoring you?
Then this is the class for you.
We teach you how to get your dog to want to come back to you and how they'll find you much more exciting than anything else that's around.

Greyhound 101 - Auckland
Welcome and congratulations on adopting your family member!
Like any relationship, you and your Greyhound have a lot to learn about each other. What energises them, their unique nuances, behaviour's, the best way to train and integrate them into life with you. Taking on and adopting a dog brings with it a lot of excitement as well as responsibilities.
At K9 FUNdamentals, we offer a 3 hour workshop on foundational learning and practical training for Greyhound owners.
You may be contemplating adoption, have recently adopted or have had your hound for a while and want to further enhance your training or want some advice or guidance.
The course will cover a multitude of topics. Course content such as Q&A sessions to go over aspects ranging from transitioning from kennel life to home life, training on reading body language & purpose oriented games that will help introduce your Greyhound to different experiences in a safe manner.

Greyhound Massage & Wellness
K9 FUNdamentals and Greyt Touch - Canine Therapy Massage have teamed up to bring you a workshop focused on Massage & Wellness for Greyhounds.
(Please note that this workshop is Auckland based)
